$80 million under budget!

The fourth bore of the Caldecott Tunnel should be open before this election.

Dave has been a Member of the Contra Costa Transporation Authority Board of Directors for nine years and the Board Chairman in 2009.

Dave successfully fought off attempts by the state to raid our regional transportation improvement money.

The Board had to juggle Federal, state, the 1/2 cent sales tax dollars, and bridge toll money to complete this project.

In 2004 the voters approved Measure J for the construction of this project - $400 million. We came in $80 million under cost estimates

2005 Groundbreaking of Dougherty Valley High School - 6 years early!

Dougherty Valley High School - 6 years early

Thank you, Dave Hudson!

The school district must build the school in San Ramon that was promised in the last school bond election.

Our elementary schools are overcrowded and Dave has been the champion of this cause for 20 years. He was the lone voice calling for additional elementary schools in the General Plan, first on the Faria property and later in Dougherty Valley - since 1997.

Dave was the driving force to open Dougherty Valley High School six years early. In the photo above, you see the ground breaking for the high school six years ago. If it was not for Dave's personal efforts, the school would only be opening now.

Dave has been active with Athletic & Music Academic Boosters at California High School where he received the Friend of the Grizzlies Award from California High School. The plaque is hanging on the wall.

City of San Ramon
Statement of Qualifications

David Hudson
Candidate for City Council

San Ramon is one of the most beautiful and best managed cities in California

San Ramon is the safest city in California with a population over 30,000 and has the lowest violent crime rate in the 580/680 corridor. Through hard work, dedication, and prudent fiscal management, we’ve earned “AAA” bond/credit rating with $29 million in reserves. We have received “Excellence in Reporting” for financial audit transparency nine years in a row. San Ramon is also recognized as one of the Top 100 Best Communities for Young People in America.

During my 20 years of leadership, I’ve served as San Ramon’s Mayor, City Councilman and Planning Commissioner, while serving on dozens of other boards, commissions, and committees. Through work on “County Connection” and TRAFFIX, we’ve reduced traffic congestion. A decade of East Bay Regional Park District Advisory Committee helped me promote bike sharing on the Iron Horse Trail and expand regional parks. I serve on the National and California League Cities for transportation and community development. This experience helps me fight the State’s raid of your transportation dollars and improve property values while maintaining local control for our residents. It strengthened my part to open the Caldecott tunnel’s fourth bore.

Our future will be stronger when we: build the City Center with a public/private partnership (no new taxes); open the new school promised in the last bond measure to relieve overcrowding; continue to manage employee pension issues to protect taxpayers from unfunded liabilities; and improve property values by attracting high quality jobs.

My wife Barbara and I raised our children in San Ramon. We love our community and would be honored to have your support in this election. If you have any questions, please, call me at my home - 828-5578.
